Training  Methods
I believe that the best way to train a dog is to make it fun for the dog, and follow the ethics of the APDT organization to which I adhere to a strong code of training ethics and expectations.

Dogs that are having fun training with you are engaged and focused and thrive in a training session.
In keeping training sessions fun, challenging and exciting for the , I have found the dog and owner will enjoy the training process and have more success. I train all my own dogs and client's dogs using positive reinforcement methods.  (Clicker Training)

What this means is that rather than concentrate on punishing behaviors we don't like, the training program will focus on what we do want the dog to do and reinforce those behaviors we do like.

I do not use equipment like choke collars, pinch or prong collars or shock collars.
I do not use intimidation or fear in my training programs. Having trained for many years,
I have found positive reinforcement training / clicker training to be the most effective and enjoyable.
Training can be and should be fun and rewarding for owner and dog.

Positive reinforcement training does not mean that there are never consequences or discipline
involved but the consequences should never be pain or fear, for instance,
I utilize redirection techniques when a dog needs a behavior to be corrected.

Strong relationships are built on trust, communication and mutual respect, never on fear or intimidation.
I am committed to treating both the dogs and their humans with compassion and understanding.

Aislinge's Training Program- Private lessons
American Kennel Club STAR Puppy, & Canine Good Citizen Training programs

I offer a six week AKC CGC Training program where I will get your dog started on the basic core house manners, preparing your dog to learn AKC Canine Good Citizen behaviors including sit, down, loose leash walking, come, here, name recognition, leave it, wait, off and stay, ending with the goal of  you and your dog passing the AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluation.

I may include other behaviors or modify these behaviors for your dogs individual training plan.
Your dog will be trained in several short sessions throughout the day in different locations around the
property, your dog will have many socialization opportunities, and go on community field trips
to reinforce training and socialization skillls learned, using positive reinforcement methods.

I will meet with you and your dog for an initial consult meeting so that you can meet me personally and see me interact with your dog, answer any questions you may have, and review my training program.

Upon completion of working with your dog during  private weekly sessions, I will provide you with a written training report of the skills attained and what you will need to do to continue on with what you have acheived in this program.

The Aislinge Training program is appropriate for dogs of all ages and is appropriate for puppies of any age, and will provide a puppy with wonderful socialization opportunities.

*  ALL DOGS AND PUPPIES NEED TO BE UP TO DATE ON VACCINES, AND ON HEARTWORM   PREVENTION, BE PARASITE FREE PRIOR TO COMING ONTO TRAINING PROPERTY

Behavior Consulting
The Aislinge Training programs are appropriate for dogs whose owners would like to learn
basic behaviors and house manners, with the goal of earning the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification, or the APDT C.L.A.S.S. certification upon completion of the program,  IT IS NOT appropriate for dogs that have serious behavioral issues such as aggression (dog or human), separation anxiety, extreme fear or phobias, housetraining or other issues where intensive owner participation and in home management is a critical part of a behavior modification program, where private training and home management skills can be provided in scheduled private training sessions with me.
